Safe and sound in my greeen hotel room! in Kampala....
But anyway, I've arrived safely. I was greeted at the airport by Jerry, and Hamlet's driver, Samuel.
Hopefully in the morning I'll post here a video which will give you the flavour of things..... (There's a killer in my hotel room!!)
Tomorrow we're meeting Jonathan and flying out to the west of Uganda near to the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo. There we will visit some education, medical and business projects. Tomorrow night we are staying at a hotel which you can use as a base to trek mountain gorillas. (Yes, that's the photograph at the top!). Commercial Tourism in Uganda is one of the industries that our host hopes to develop to help with social and economic improvement. We won't have time to try the gorilla trekking. Someone said it was a good thing in case my head dazzled them into running away!
Check back tomorrow in case I manage to upload another blog from the wild west! Meanwhile, enjoy the video, if it ever finishes uploading onto YouTube!!!

ReplyDeleteAndy's not going gorilla trecking because he doesn't need to - there's a 7 foot silverback in his hotel room; THAT's the killer!!
